About the Potter
All Pottery is handmade by Kelly Proulx in Airdrie, Alberta Canada
I’m a studio potter based in Airdrie, Alberta. My journey with clay began when I was 19 and enrolled at the Alberta University of the Arts (AUA) in Calgary (formerly known as ACAD). It didn’t take long for me to realize that clay was the medium that truly spoke to me, and that’s when I decided to dive deep into ceramics. I spent four years there as a Ceramics Major, learning from some incredible master potters from all over the world, and I’m really grateful for that experience.
In my work, I aim to blend artistry with design, creating functional pottery that’s rich with texture and pattern. When I’m not making pottery, I love teaching people of all ages and skill levels, hiking in the mountains with my family and tending to my many plants. It’s something that keeps me inspired and always learning.
I believe in the power of creative experiences to enhance mental well-being, offering avenues for personal expression, stress relief, and appreciation of the arts within our community.
